Salary: £35k - £55k dependent on experience + Healthcare

Company Introduction

A London based E-Commerce agency, specialising in the design and build of transactional web sites for a range of clients including Multi-Channel Retailers and Blue Chip brands. My client also provide a range of E-Marketing and Usability Services.

My client are continually developing and evolving its E-Commerce offering with current developments including Web 2.0 based Community features within an online retail environment.

By developing and expanding their E-Commerce offering, they are continually increasing their client base. As part of this process, they are now looking to grow their highly skilled and motivated team with a senior Ruby on Rails developer.

As a member in the development team, you will be working in a stimulating Agile environment where test-driven development and pair programming is a natural part of the day-to-day job.

Current clients include Sainsbury’s, BUPA and Dollond & Aitchison.

Job Description

As part of a fast growing Development team you will be working to both deliver client projects and drive the development of our E-Commerce offering in a democratic, open environment that embraces change and strives for distinction every day.

You will be a ‘lifetime learner’ committed to both individual and team excellence with the knowledge that you can improve every day; learning from those around you and from the open source community as a whole.

You should be comfortable coding both on your own and in a pair programming environment. The role will also involve requirements-gathering meetings with the Project Services team which will include clients and team discussions about system design.

Core skills required include:

· Solid Ruby on Rails knowledge (1+ years of commercial experience)

· 2+ years commercial experience in web development

· Test-driven development

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills with team experience

· Agile / Scrum

Experience in one or more of the following areas would be advantageous:

· E-Commerce

· Systems Integration

· Community / Web 2.0

· Extreme Programming
